Prof. Derong Liu, Southern University of Science and Technology, China Member of the Academia Europaea, IEEE Fellow Derong Liu received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, USA, in 1994. He became a Full Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006. He was selected for the “100 Talents Program” by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008, and he served as the Associate Director of The State Key Laboratory of Management and Control for Complex Systems at the Institute of Automation, from 2010 to 2016. He has published 13 books. He received the International Neural Network Society’s Gabor Award in 2018 and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Neural Network Pioneer Award in 2022. He has been named a highly cited researcher by Clarivate since 2017. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems from 2010 to 2015. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Artificial Intelligence Review (Springer). He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the International Neural Network Society, a Fellow of the International Association of Pattern Recognition, and a Member of Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe). |
Prof. Xin Xu, National University of Defense Technology, China Recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund Xu Xin was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the Fok Ying-tung Young Teachers Fund, and was selected as an outstanding talent support program in the new century. He is mainly engaged in the research on autonomous control and machine learning of intelligent unmanned systems, and won one second prize of National Natural Science, two first prizes of Hunan Natural Science and one prize of Hunan Science and Technology Innovation Team. He presided over more than 20 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, national key R&D plan projects, 973 projects and equipment pre-research projects. Prof. Zhigang Zeng, University of California, Davis Recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund Zhigang Zeng is a Professor and the Dean of School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching and research of system synthesis and analysis, and was awarded by the IEEE Fellow Membership Grade for contributions to analysis and synthesis of neurodynamic systems. His current research interests include theory of functional differential equations and differential equations with discontinuous right-hand sides, and their applications to dynamics of neural networks, memristive systems, and control systems. He has authored or co-authored over 200 scientific papers published in leading journals. He is also a Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science listed by Clarivate Analytics.
